Ride Irish - any advice or experience

Another highly recommended for Emma at Clip Clop. Got my boy from him and he has been everything and more. Second the advice above. Tell her exactly what you want. Don't over egg your abilities, be honest and she will find you something suitable. Bought Sailor over year and half ago and...

    What would you do?

    AT the yard.

    How much would you pay..

For what you have said is included in Sussex I have friends on similar (near the Downs) paying between £65pcm and £85pcm. Once the school is built and for all the rug changing etc i would suggest more towards the £85pcm mark.

    Loose droppings..any advice?

I was going to suggest worm - but you have done that :-) Mine went a bit like that and in the end after the pro-biotics made no change the Vet advised another wormer a couple of weeks after. Especially with all the weather at the mo all manner of weird things going on ;-)

    Recommend me a hood...

Snuggy hoods for sure. Turn out ones are great and shower proof too. Give them a call and they can help with sizing. Best to get a good fit and then tend not too move.

Advice: Horse with no tail- flies in summer?

Does he have no tail at all? You can buy clip on/in tails? But depends on how much if any natural tail he has.

    Taking back a riding hat?

I don;t think you can take it back and pretend its not been used. However if they sold it to you as fitting correctly and you do not think it is then you should have some recourse. I had a new hat too for xmas and was fitted and have to say it is quite tight and did give me a headache the first...

    vent/advice needed pls.

Well maybe take a short break and try again in the spring. You could just do a bit of work on the ground for the next few months, walking her out in hand etc to help with any hacking should you return to it. Some horses never get turned away again once bought in to work. But as you know you...

    vent/advice needed pls.

If rising costs and your job mean you cannot compete or give your horse the time she needs, then i do not think putting her into foal is going to help. Is your job likely to be any different time the foal arrives? You will have 2 to pay for, look after, school etc. It is hard and i am no...

Is my Premier Equine rug faulty?????

I'm with Teenie - all the PE rugs i've had have been 100% waterproof. One was on a horse that lived out 24/7 rain or shine. Even on the most grotty days and nights he was never ever wet from the rug leaking -just the odd bit run down his neck etc. Speak with PE - but as noted previously they...

All good points to consider - had thought about the falling out one. Like to hear that it does work out too and like the idea of a list (agreed at the beginning etc) Thanks

One pony one horse. Would need to check weights etc before confirmed purchase. But we travel currently and are ok on payload. Checked in at the local weigh bridge. But always good to keep in mind - thanks :-)
