It sounds like you are doing a very good job , to try and and lengthen his strides put out cantering poles slightly over the designated length between.
Good luck,
Personally he's sounds very green and no ther bit then a snaffle should be used whatever the weather. He may have become hard in the mouth because he has been put in a too stronger bit. Try some transitions to get him listening to you and then on hacks try to desensitise him as much as possible...
Try to fold form your hips and release with your reins but do not try to fold too far forward so you get left behind! Also try to do pole work and canter work in jumping position. Everyone finds jumping position even olympic riders have to think about it
Group lessons are really fun and if you try to get to know the people in lessons you won't be as nervous. Try to concentrate on you not others then you won't get distracted . Block out noises and it will really help. I think after all the arguments it was turn on the forehand maybe? Good luck.
Good idea, in case something happened you don't want a wasted three grand, when u could have bought another healthy horse! He sounds lovely but I don't think u should risk anything
Cool, what livery yard is this and also, it is normal for you having to bring your horse n before dark due to health and safety. Normally people can be paid around 1 or 2 pounds to take in or out in the evenings.
Good luck
