Hello, after an amazing summer of hacking, the evenings are drawing in and school work is beckoning. We are very lucky on our yard to have off road hacking around the edge of our fields and bridleways and byways through our yard. So apart from crossing a lane if we do a complete loop, there is...
Having the vet out next week, we did hack out with a friend last night and he was very forward and happy, but will see what the vet says next week, thanks guys.
no, he is not bothered about any particular horse, he is turned out in a group of 5 and surrounded by others, he is always happy to be with the herd , but off to one side on his own. He is turned out with geldings but has previously been turned out with mares, but generally keeps himself to himself.
Hello, i hack out alone or in company and my horse is usually very happy, (a little cautious on the bridle paths when alone even with lots of encouragement) but very happy on the roads. Over the weekend he simply would not leave the yard, he was bolt upright and no matter what coaxing i did, he...
Yes thank you, i have always allowed for plenty box rest if slightly off and time off and always warm up for an exstended period. After a 10k claim 5 years ago, and paying the balance, i guess i would always pay and go without a holiday or whatever ect, i guess they are family. So Colic would be...
Good morning, my horse has just turned 18 years old and my insurance has gone upto to £121 a month. He did suffer from laminitus last year which i did not claim for, but he had a big leg op 5 years ago that i did claim in full on, so he may only have 2 legs covered now. If they only pay upto the...
Hello I am currently using Naf Veteran Suppliment and getting through a 3kg tub quite quickly, it is recommended for 2 months use. The prices seem quite high and I understand you pay for what you get, but I was recommended to use this suppliemt but wondered what alterantives people used please...
Hello my horse is recovering from 5% rotation and just had his hoofs trimmed right back, but is still sore a few weeks on from trimming and 2 months diagnosis. My vet is now suggesting hoof boots to see if they make him more comfortable to enable him to get a little turnout in a dry paddock...
Hello my gelding is recovering from Laminitus, with 6% pedla bone rotation and had his front hoofs trimmed back considerably. My vet is suggesting stick on shoes rather than nailing on Heart Bar shoes, other options maybe a boot with shapers for his front's. Just wondered what others had done...
Despite spotting Laminitis early, my horse went down hill very quickly and the emergency vet turned up within half an hour. One month later he has improved greatly and we are upto corrective feet triiming to align the front pedal bones which have rotated slightky. He is now getting more Bolshy...
Hello, i am looking for recommendations to motivate and encourage myself whilst exercising in the school. I often listen to music, but an ex livery used to listen and train to various themed ones. Just something fun rather than doing the odd prelim,
many thanks
:)
