Very interesting missfitz. Interesting comments at the bottom too - the usual "selfish riders should stay off the roads and ride round fields" stuff. I don't think people understand that you can't just go into a random field and ride round, and that the fields don't actually link to one...
They are frantic :( Lots of rats and rabbits around, so I think they're probably enjoying themselves, oblivious to the heartache, and will probably come home once the weather turns.
We're fence judging both days, so look out for the old, rusty, blue 4x4 and the black and tan terrier if you're walking the course. If you're walking with dogs, look for the noisy, bouncy, terrier (she is friendly, despite first appearances). Always nice to meet new people :)
Posted on behalf of a friend, whose 2 Patterdale bitches have been missing for the past month, near Barnsley. They think they have been sighted and may be living rough.

Well done on making a brave decision. I'm sure your horse would thank you for it if he could.
I've had 1 injected and 1 shot. Both went quickly and without fuss.
I chose the injection for the first one, she was very old (37) and ready to go. She was comfortable with vets and...

Had my 13hh pony PTS by injection - approx £175 vet costs and £350 cremation costs (no ashes returned).
Had my 16hh horse shot, and "economic disposal", £200+VAT, by the same disposal company as above - they don't charge for shooting.
I chose the best method for each horse - the...
I was at Wheats Farm. Once we'd sorted out the turnout issues, it was fantastic. Wouldn't hesitate to go back there. Only left as my mare needed individual turnout during her twilight years (she kept getting into scraps!).
They do 24/7 turnout during the summer, and daily turnout during...
Oh bugger :(
Don't give up on him - I know so many horses who have been diagnosed with navicular, but are still sound and competing years later - 2 eventers, a polo pony, and a dressage horse, and those are just the ones I've looked after. All have been treated with medication and rehab...
You're right, I'm getting my courses muddled up - the trouble with FJing for both days, I can't remember which was which lol. So are Mattingley running the champs on the Sunday then? I've been asked back to FJ but have no details at all, other than the dates.
25/26 September I *think*. Course is normally fairly kind. Based on the event in May, there were ditches at 6 (half coffin I think), 15 (ditch palisade), and possibly at 17 (getting my courses muddled now, but I think it's a ditch in front of a step up??). As far as I know, no trakehner...
Not wishing to bad mouth the polo world, but having spent 8 seasons as a groom, I have seen all sides of it.
Firstly, polo ponies don't often have the same groom for more than 1 season. Secondly, the owner/player quite often doesn't know the ponies names, ages, history etc. Thirdly, very...
