Title is fairly self explanatory - I'm looking for somewhere I can have an hours lesson on a dressage schoolmaster. It doesn't have to be at GP level as I just want to practice perfecting my aids on a horse who knows what I'm asking of it, but it would be nice if I could have a go at some higher...

I've been considering getting my very awkwardly shaped horse a Claridge House bridle from Hööks' online store as they look lovely and seem very reasonably priced. I was wondering about their sizing - they don't have a size guide (as far as I can tell). My horse usually requires a small size...
My instructor thinks it's a learnt habit and suggested going back to a flash, but she wasn't around when i changed him out of it to see the difference it made. He's trained for western pleasure and does the same neck reining (which seriously looks bizarre). I think it might partially be a...
Long story short, when I bought my horse he was in a flash. I took this off as I'm generally not a fan of them and found he instantly worked much better into his bridle, which improved even more when I ditched a noseband altogether. One issue - he gapes his mouth in downward translations, even...
A wilkie might be a good idea - softer than a two ring gag but it'll give you a little more control than a snaffle? Definitely try first though, mine was once ridden in a pelham by someone with very rough hands and has since been totally accepting of any poll pressure (or any pressure at all to...
keeping tighter reins and riding into the contact makes things much worse, that was the first thing my instructor recommended and lots of head tossing/napping/general unhappiness ensued... definitely needs less pressure, not more, as when I ride him as usual he's perfectly forward and responsive...
I think it's partially a schooling issue because he's still learning to accept the contact and carry himself correctly however I think a new but would make him more comfortable - he really doesn't seem to be at the minute. It's not a new issue, he's been like this since I got him, only now I'm...
I was taught that chunkier horses can carry 1/5th of their weight and finer horses can carry 1/6th of their weight but that sounds like a lot to me so I guess go off eye. As said above the rider's experience/balance will also have an impact
when I was pony shopping I was wary of people advertising on another's behalf - I enquired about one who turned out to be owned by someone who doesn't exactly have a great reputation. Maybe this is putting people off?
I had a pony with the same issue, he had 6mths loose in the field and he came back sound even though scans showed it still wasn't 100%. After bringing him back into work he was sold to someone who wanted to hack and do little local shows so he wouldn't be doing any hard work which would make him...
ahaha sounds like I've got a shrinking violet then, my horse tenses up - the more people the worse he is!! absolute nightmare when I'm trying to convince him he wants to become a dressage horse. and it's not like he'll get used to it either, he's 18 now and he's always been the same.
I struggle to maintain a contact on my horse in a steel french link loose ring snaffle - he comes back at me and tries to evade the bit by throwing his head and sticking his tongue out. I'm pretty sure this is caused by a sensitive tongue and so started shopping around for different bit options...
I've never asked, his past owners said he was seen and it's untreatable so I never thought to ask until I did a bit of research after a particularly bad fit. It always stops after minute or two of work and therefore has never got in the way very much
