Spot on! :) they will usually shout hounds please when the hounds are coming through so you'll have time to turn him head on :)
Had a an amazing day & enjoy every minute! You'll get the hunting bug after you've been once :D
Just on that.. if your horse does kick a hound... yes you should inform hunt staff and the correct thing to do is too apologise and go home. They will not be best pleased if that happens. But as said keep him face on and this shouldn't happen :D
ladies should wear navy jackets.. but if its your first time out a tweed or plain black jacket will do.. I've always been told it is acceptable for anyone under the age of 18 to wear tweed. Really the most important thing is to look smart, neat and presentable so if I would plait both mane and...
we park our tractors/massive lorries/anything like in front of any of our gates... & take our tack home. Only thing you can do.. oh and we have a very vocal border collie & a doberman who has a dislike to strangers! And a grumpy old man with a shotgun. I don't object to people living the way...
Because people pick their horses not on their breed but on their suitability and temperament. I hve welshys and TBs... would let anyone ride the TB but my welshy is none as "dangerous" but hes just misunderstood really. Sooo I think your idea of cobs may be slightly disorientated to be honest lol
Little man & big man are both in their fleeces with their stable rugs on top... toasty warm!! Not fully clipped this year so they don't need their duvets... though they look cute in them!
Hopefully he'll be alright then! I haven't had chance to show my own at county yet as I've been grooming for other people at them, but I got a little youngster this year so I've got the raw material so hopefully he will make the grade showing wise!
No he definately does not... he think's hes still 5 and acts like it! And looks very well, people are suprised at his age, he always does well in the workers. So fingers crossed, I've still got some miles left in the old boy yet so I hope that he'll do well as I think he is a superstar (maybe I...
I had a similar situation to this, came across a pony with its back legs wrapped round and round in barbed wire.. poor thing was distraught and exhasuted. Its horrible to see things like that... so I completely agree with you, fence ditches... and don't keep horses in any form of wire fencing...
I will be taking my youngster to county shows this year showing... but I was wondering how do the older horses get on, mine in 17 I was hoping to put him in M&M workers as he is always placed first non affiliated. But some people have told me that judges don't like them much and always go for...
I have a bonkers little welsh cob, and I got bitched about constantly when I went to pony club. They soon all ate their words when he was beating them left right and centre in jumping.. and was always choosen for the a team for areas, and came 3rd.. out of about 150 horse/ponies. So I would say...
Hmmm I know it is a bit of a nightmare.. but I think at the yard I used to work at they were all insured with NFU... the best I've come across for horses. If I was to insure, I would pick them!
