Sorry to hear you didn't have the best of days but as you said lots of positives and sounds like you made the right decision. We struggled with the SJ warm up too as I only have studs in the rear at the moment so had to walk down the slope and then turn up in canter. Glad to hear others had...
I got a plain pair of black long boots with a zip up the back. They were seconds on sale at Windsor and we're £80! I adore them. Admittedly they are my first ever long boots but they are so comfy, I haven't had a single problem with blisters and I find them much better to ride in than jod...
We had a fun dressage competition and bbq at the yard 2 weeks ago. Barney well and truly lived up to his nickname of The Toddler, which I didn't take very well. As I came out of the arena, I commented to my friends "what a f**cking s**t!"
When I picked up my test sheet later in the day...
I'm another one for poles. I had a nasty fall after Christmas and got the colly wobbles. My horse is green and takes a lot of confidence from me and like you, I would freeze on the last stride. We spent a lot of time cantering through wings with no poles, then wings with poles and then...
I was at Keysoe on Sunday as a friend was doing the 90 and I thought it was fab! They were spot on time for all 3 phases and all the stewards we met were polite, helpful and maintaining a sense of humour! The facilities were great and I've lost count of how many people I've told about the fact...
Tonight - Plaiting

Well done, clever donkey! We're doing CT at Felbridge tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to doing our two weakest phases and not having the xc to cheer ourselves up!
Good luck for Pachesham, I'm sure he'll breeze it!
I've tried installing Java and Flash but still no joy. I can get the play icon with Chrome but it doesn't seem to do anything when I click on it. Isn't technology wonderful!
Checked at 6am before I went to the yard and then when I got back I could see there were another 15 pages so knew she must be here, yay!
She's totally gorgeous. Enjoy your first day with her in the sunshine and we'll look forward to pouring over more photos later x
I second the suggestion of starting out with some Hunter Trails. I've just started this year and we'd done about 4 lots of xc schooling before we went to our first HT. We did the 75cm class which was lovely as most of it looked tiddly and I knew I could get him to walk over it if I needed...
Wet wipes and loo roll!! And another one for torch, or head torch if you have one. Oh and a cool box with a couple of bags of ice in, just in case by some miracle the weather is nice, nothing worse than warm wine ;-)
I wrote a list out of kit for him and me on my first one and it was long...
