    Dunne v Frost

I don't want to dismiss this very serious and important discussion or the impact it had on Frost to be in this situation. But all I can imagine is pointing, laughing and asking if he is feeling the cold...

    Dunne v Frost

Although she does go onto state a connection with Dunne through her partner and their mutual connection to Liam Treadwell which made me wonder how impartial she can really be on the subject or how much she is exposed to that culture in the people she associates with. In my career I have seen a...

I hose the hoof never the legs. I let them dry and brush them off

Loss of horse and want to quit… or not

Is your only concern based on how a video of the first time you rode a strange horse, who is not your usual type? the feeling good about the horse that is far more important than how it looked and learning to ride a new type of horse that you clicked with could be great for you. We all have days...

Unsustainable, elitist sport... how have we made it here?

Do you have good standard of UA events in your area? Disclaimer, I don't event but friends who do have stopped BE and do UA instead as we have a lot of good level competitions around here (Midlands) and whilst still cost money are not BE level costs. I do compete BD and do find it pretty good...

    Deleting social media

I have reduced my FB to essentials, but it is too damn useful for horse related activities. I have learned of countless horsey clinics, lectures, demos, competitions and last minute availability for things I wanted to do due to Facebook and as much I like to remove it completely I don't know any...

Anatomical bridles you can use without a noseband?

I use a Quantum anatomical bridle, the noseband is fully removable as it is slotted into the cheek pieces so you can easily use the bridle without it. The bridle is kept in pace by the strap under the jaw so would stay in place.

    Thrush preventative

I have had good results over the years with Red horse field paste (good barrier) and Hedgewitch Sole survivor oil (good at clearing up thrush)

    Interesting idea for EMS/Laminitics

I went to a lecture by Sarah (?) from Forage Plus and it was fascinating. I have never yet had a horse with either EMS or Laminitis but her approach was really interesting and seemed counter intuitive at first but she backed it up with stats and evidence as the talk progressed. I have started...

Rugs, do you get what you pay for?

Latest one was bought in 2018. I used to have a Lavenham stable rug for my first pony, it was fantastic

New noseband - drop or something else?

Same here, I was surprised how my fussy mouthed horse relaxed with a differently shaped headpiece.

Rugs, do you get what you pay for?

Yes, I do think you get what you pay for. Two of my horses wear Rambo Tech Duo and the outers seem to be indestructible and the liners are great. My older horse who lives in a herd wears Shires and Weatherbeeta ones as the herd can destroy each others rugs and I have to replace or repair them at...

    Would you take a punt?

I had all my horses' sarcoids treated by Jeremy Kemp-Symonds, if he wasn't the person who treated your boy this time I would recommend him to provide a second opinion.
