I was the same and then went to volunteer at a rescue. Been there over 10 years now and it's a massive part of my life. I said to myself... -

There’s no benefit to calling the vet today IMO- the lameness will either get worse and an abscess will need draining, or it is soft...

Keep your duct tape indoors at home and in your pocket at the yard. The cold does affect the adhesive.
