    What Trailers would you recommend?

I love my Bateson Ascot. It's very easy to tow and manage on my own. It light and airy and I've never had a horse not walk in without the ramp. I love the lockable tack locker and little shelf above it. The barn doors are great too. It doesn't rattle and gives a smooth ride. They seem to hold...

    Pachesham Equestrian Centre ODE

Another shout for Munstead. A lovely course. As others have said Pachesham is a bit more twisty and can get a bit boggy in the woods. And yes the water is foul, I think you'd end up ill if you drank it!!

Tredstep Donatello dress boot.. ok for jumping?

Thanks Nato and Polo. Uuummm, might have to go back to the drawing board then! Not a good advert for them Polo, especially as you cleaned them and took good care of them. You'd have expected them to last quite some time even if they are at the cheaper end of the long boot market. Maybe I'll have...

Tredstep Donatello dress boot.. ok for jumping?

I'm after a new pair of long boots, something that I can use for dressage and jumping.. bit of an all round boot really. (I have my Konigs for pure dressage). I was looking at the Tredstep Donatello dress boot but am wondering if it drops enough for jumping? They also do the Donatello field boot...

Bateson Trailers - Anyone have any experience?

I have an Ascot and love it! It's really easy to tow and easy hitch up on your own. The boston doors are a real bonus and I don't even have to use the ramp now, the horse just walks in. The doors are easy to open and close. Opening the doors sideways are great if you have a reluctant loader as...

    One test or two?

This. I entered one class last weekend but had a bit of a nightmare. Wish I'd entered the next class so I could have had another go once my horse had settled and already seen the ever so spooky arena and judge's box!

Which trailer would you buy? Ifor, Equitrek, Bateson, Nugent..?

Love my Bateson Ascot. Its so easy to tow and easy to do on my own. The tack locker in the front is really handy and the boston doors at the back are fab, I don't even need to pull the ramp out and my horse just steps into the trailer. Even a few fussy loaders at the yard just step into it...

    Average cost of part-loan/share

I share a lovely horse 2 days per week. I pay £15 per day and do all the usual jobs, mucking out, poo picking, fill haynet, water, clean tack etc. The yard staff bring her in on an evening so I only need to go up once per day. The yard has a school and jumps which we are free to use and an...

Win a horse competition - photos?

Anyone heard anything? I'm assuming the final 8 have been informed by now although I can't see any reference to the competition on their website or FB.

    Girls who wear glasses...

I wear contact lenses but due to an infection years ago I can really only tolerate them for 4-5 hours as my eyes become sore and dry. However, I've just changed to Dailies TOTAL 1 lenses and they are brilliant. They have a high water content and high gas permeability, DK 140. Now I can use them...

Win a horse competition - photos?

I've not heard anything. I think the closing date was the 10th Nov, but then the 20th for photos. I hope they let us know either way.

Bateson Trailers - tell me everything I need to know!

I've also got an Ascot with the boston doors and two side windows. It's fantastic and very easy to tow and use on your own. I don't use the ramp and my horse strolls in even with one door shut. The tack locker is very handy and holds 2 saddles and a tray for bits and pieces. The little shelf...

Owning a trailer. Things to consider?

I'm insured to tow under my regular car insurance at no extra cost (i did ring and check with my insurance company). I also have trailer insurance. I have seperate car and trailer breakdown cover too although you can get joint and add on policies. With regards to the trailer isurance you may...

Hyundai Sanata Fe vs Nissan X Trail?

I've got an X-Trail (10 plate). Its great to tow and mine has a reversing camera which is great for hitching up the trailer when you're on your own! Its really comfy and as Batgirl said the boot is huge! I'm really happy with it. And also, I can switch between 2WD and 4WD, so saving money.

Horse care home study course. To do or not to do?

Thanks Echo24. I did think about looking for a local instructor, but I think by the time I've travelled to them (most yards are a fair distance away and traffic hellish around here) and paid them, over the weeks I'll probably have spent more than the Lingfield course - they have subsidised fees...
