hi,
I have a very fussy TB mare with big tongue and a low palette that we compete at novice level and hoping to step up to intermediate soon but need the contact issues sorted first,
i am finding it very hard to get a bit that she is happy with, best i have found so far is a full cheek...
Just a quick question, when changing the rein in trot and have to show some medium trot strides is it alright to rise the medium if I have done the rest of the test sitting?
funny enough now that you say that she did, she caught herself just above the bulb, i think on that side i just looked through pics on phone but it was near enough a whole year ago, how long roughly does it take for a crack like that to grow out?
it was only at the back though well away from...
nope no gunge or smell but only noticed today so don't know how long its been there
i have seen quite a few rupture at the coronet band and look similar but not at the side like this, cant really see how she could have caught it but i suppose could be a possibility,
thanks this doesn't...
hi all,
So am i right in thinking this has just been an abcess and has burst through at the coronet band?? and shouldn't cause any issues?
probably will not get farrier until Tuesday now so anyone that has experience please feel free to share :). i have an event entered for this Saturday...
Has any one any tips or exercises for keeping the bend in canter on a 20m circle while giving an retaking inside rein over x?(3 to 5 strides)
She keeps her outline and rhythm just seems to go straight when I give! Any ideas much appreciated. Thanks
As others have said it does sound pain related, if you have had all checked, then i would be considering if she was worth the effort (excellent movement, confirmation Etc) as if shes just another run of the mill mare why bother, sounds like you have your mind made up tho!!
Few things you could try, If you can do a full circuit, not turning at a point to head home again.
Another would be to just hack half as far as you would normally and when you get back to home entrance keep going for the same distance.
I would also have her work at home when you get back...
I bought prestige dressage leathers an absolutely hated them just didn't feel right an couldn't roll them up either.
Ended up with the stubben bonded ones they are very soft so have not marked saddles either
I also have the wosley harriers will cut through the thickest off coats no problem.
They have also been kicked out of my hands on more than one occasion and are none the worst for ware.
