There is a weight plate on your car usually in a door frame or under the bonnet with 4 weights on it
I need the top two weights to give you the info you need for your max tow limit for the trailer including its load
I think you are asking if the trailer including its load is 3500 max and then the answer is yes BUT you still have to comply with the listed max weights for the vehicle
GTW minus the GVW is usually the car max tow limit listed on the V5 doc
This is 100% legal
Vehicle
GVW 2000
GTW 4000
Max tow limit 2000
Trailer
MAM 3500
Empty 1000
Max load into trailer will 1000 so it does not exceed the max 2000 tow limit
Without C+E or C1+E the max trailer that can be towed is 750kgs plated MAM weight = total weight of trailer including the load
Daft thing is that with a 3.5 tonne vehicle the max is 3500kgs providing all limits are adhered to
Do you have a pre 1997 car licence?
Rear view is legal as it acts as an extra mirror
Would you occasionally look at a streaming video on a fixed phone ? - of course not because that is taking eyes off the task of driving and is driving without due care and attention
About time NI had same rules as mainland UK !
In that case I need to know all the weights for B licence towing
Vehicle GVW
Vehicle GTW
Max tow limit
MAM of trailer
Weight going into trailer
NOTE - the law states that the driver cannot view the inside of the trailer of horsebox whilst driving
It is classed as driving without due care and attention
OK for passenger to view
Be careful with van towing weights
Example
GVW 3500
GTW 5500
Max tow weight 2500
Usually the GTW minus GVW is the max tow but it can be different with vans
If the van was fully loaded then the max tow would be 2000
If the van only weighed 3000 at the time of towing them it can tow 2500
