For those that feed Forage Plus Winter Balancer

If in hard work I would feed the performance balancer. I feed 2 on the hoof health with unmolassed beet, linseed and readigrass. They are in moderate work. Last year when I had one in full work he was on the performance balancer, vitamin e (as advised by forage plus), linseed, fast fibre and...

    Basset hounds

The training is the element I'm most worried about! Think I will make sure I have some people to help before I leap in. Any recommendations for someone who would be good with bassets in ayrshire?

    Basset hounds

Don't post very often but was hoping people could give me some advice on bassets. OH has wanted one for a long time and we move into our own house soon so it is becoming a possibility. He hasn't had his own dog before and I've only had terriers so would like peoples experiences of hounds in...

    Walking dogs in Scotland

Moving to a village south of Kilmarnock, looking for livery too if anyone knows anything! I can see common sense needs to prevail and he would always be on a lead near livestock but don't want to be the ignorant English swanning about over peoples land. Good to hear there tend to be tracks...

    Walking dogs in Scotland

Hi, I'm moving to Scotland soon with my Patterdale and am not quite clear on the access rights. My understanding is that I can walk anywhere! I know I will feel quite rude just wandering across peoples land! Are there any rules? Apart from obviously keeping the dog under control and avoiding...

    Scotland move! Help!

Hi, I'm moving to Scotland at short notice and need to sort out livery etc. Can anyone recommend any yards in the Prestwick/Kilmarnock area? I will need some help like bringing in and occasional mucking out. He is unfit now but I will be eventing again and want a decent school in time. Would...

    Noseband/bit ideas please

I would try a myler. The connies tend to have fat tongues so he could be opening his mouth as the only way to accommodate a bit. I would suggest the low port comfort snaffle although this is not dressage legal and you would have to swap to the plain comfort snaffle for competition. The low port...

    Nosebands?

Sustainable Dressage explain the origins of the noseband. Unless Ellie makes a habit of ploughing with her mouth I guess you don't need one!
