Thanks everyone. Pretty much confirmed what I was thinking :). There's enough grazing at the little yard, and the proximity to the comp venue outweighs any negatives, I think.

midogrey, what kind of surfaces is your riding on mainly? If its roads then it sounds like they're pretty durable. From the website I thought they might only have about 500 miles in them, but hopefully not!

I do about 30 miles a week on the roads, currently in walk mostly, but I need to increase the trot dramatically (to about 80% trot eventually), the horse's hooves won't cope with any more, so its boots or shoes. At £90 per boot they'd have to...
