The very lightest stable mat please...

I have these in my stable: www.easimat.com/acatalog/Horse_Stable_Mats.html Not sure if the link will work, if not, they're the 22mm EVA Stable Horse Mats, from easimat. They're quite lightweight, the hardest part of manovering them is due to their size rather than their weight. I've had...

    Ever had a horsey 'frenemy'?

Sounds to me like control thing, she keeps knocking you down to keep your confidence where she wants it- low, so that she can be the one in control. It's not a nice place to be, my advice would be to distance yourself, and not take to heart what she says. You may find that if you don't allow...

    Metacam, or alternatives?

He's also been known to rest his head on the lower glass shelf of a table and start snoring! Weird dog :) That's interesting to hear about the Cosequin. I was thinking about trying him on that, as his stiffness is very mild I'd rather hold off on the stronger medication for the time being if...

    Metacam, or alternatives?

Thank you all for taking the time to reply, it's a real help to hear other peoples experiences. I'm feeling a bit more informed now for my chat with the vet :)

    Metacam, or alternatives?

Thanks for your reply debserofe. I'm definitley in the camp of quality over quantity of life and I may well keep him on the Metacam, I'd just like to have a more informed view of what might or might not be out there as an alternative.

    Metacam, or alternatives?

My 10 year old Staffie has recently started to feel his age a bit. It mainly shows as sometimes becoming stiff after lying down for a while, and a slight lameness at times if he's been a bit over exuberant on a walk. I took him to the vet last week, who found some discomfort in one of his...

Saddle fitter for FnE (Free n Easy) saddle? Help!

I can't help with a fitter that covers your area, but I can confirm that there are fitters other than Les (who makes the saddles). I know of a couple who cover the South Wales area. You might have better luck contacting Endurance GB or your local Endurance group, as FnE saddles are quite...

Asking for Loan horse back Vs Upsetting people

I agree with Abacus. My loan horse when I was a teenager went back to his owner, and I was devistated. I don't think I needed a reality check, I loved him! Yes I knew that loaning him would probably only be temporary, but that didn't stop the love I had for him. As it happens, I got him back...

    Awful dream :(

I had an awful dream last night too. I dreamt that I'd just left my old horse to winter out, not fed or checked on him and had actually forgotten I owned him! All at the same time as having my current horse on DIY, seeing to him daily, with plenty of feed, grooming and daily care. It was...

    It's time - and I need help

I'm so sorry. It's the most painful decision to make, but putting your horse's well being first is the most important thing. You are not alone, sadly there are many of us who know how you're feeling, not that it makes a difference to the pain you're feeling, but know that you're not alone...
