Deffinatly leave a full saddle patch... saddle rubs cause problems, days that you can't ride, a sweaty saddle patch is easily more preferable than a sore horse.

It dosesn't sound harsh, to be honest it's the sort of thing I've been worryong about, do I bring them in, leave them out? rug not rug.. I really don't know. The problem with bringing in is, although I have a stable, the field the three are turned out in isn't very accesable, I would have to...
I don't feed her anything extra now, I to give her enough feed just to absorb her foot supplement (she's barefoot). I have to keep an eye on her when she's near geldings and when she's brought in to be ridden, otherwise she will rub her tail. She lives out 24/7 now which has helped a lot, her...
Eeek... yes red ribbons should be used more often. Though look at it from an owner of horse with a 'personality's point of view. I always put a red ribbon in my cobs tail.. he wouldn't kick but would warn... but just in case there was always the ribbon. On one occasion some b*tchy lady told me...
Death by shavings fork... I wonder what the police would say about that one, .
There's always someone on a livery yard eh? We've recently discovered that 'someone' on our yard keeps turning the electric fence of and leaving it of... A big sign saying 'DO NOT LEAVE OFF' isn't enough obviously...

I used a comfrey cream which was recomended to me... again it recomended using it for a period then a rest before reusing. It didn't really make a difference. I've heard some friends have great results from splint applications so its worth a go.. good luck
I'm resigned to the fact that splints...
I'm in the same position.... Though the mare is a cleveland bay and rather chubby... I'm already starting to think 'what if the weather turns bad?' The foal is only 6 weeks aswell... they look so fragile. I'm sure he'll be fine... not that I could catch him if I wanted to... we're still working...
Hi...
Whats the best rug bib on the market? Any suggestions?
My tb mare got rubs over the summer from her summer turnout rug... it's a horsewear rug and wasn't cheap... I don't want any more rubbing now her coat has grown back, she'll need to be rugged up when the weather turns, but which is the...
I've just bought the thorowgood cob for my tb (yeah I know... strange, lol) its a lovely saddle, if the t6 is anything like it then it'll be great too. The only bother I have is the girth straps... they're a bit short... might be different on the t6, but my mare has a 54" girth and it only...
My Tb mare didn't get any extra food, not even hay until late december/january, she just didn't need it. She's out 24/7 and has been since last summer. This was a horse that couldn't keep weight on and would look like a coat rack two years ago just at the sight of cold weather. But thats when...
I used to feed oestress... it's good but I had to feed it through winter... although my mare isn't moody, she does show strange behaviour when in season... rubbing her tail raw... flinchiness etc... I had to feed through winter because if she meets a new gelding it's only a couple of days before...

however I would have it fitted as they don't suit every type e.g my cob.

I would second that... I have the wintec close contact and the dressage saddle, I do love them but are having to sell them both. They just don't fit my tb, she's not exactly a skinny thing, lol...
