Just though I would let people know, incase you are about to buy one. I got a size up after reading lots on here about them being small, but it was definitely a size too big, so I would say their new rugs are spot-on size wise.
I think it's 2500 litres per year, you need to keep receipts to prove how much you are using. I've used it in the past in my car and saved loads! and I know someone who uses it in their lorry and saves lots too.
I would only go to 50% max and probably only 25% veg oil in winter.
As the title says really, what brand/model would you say is the best fitting (for the average built horse) in particular the best fitting neck cover?
thankyou :D
I agree! I absolutely LOVED mary king in those interviews. What a horrible interviewer from the BBC! she answered his questions very well and more politely than I probably would have been able to. In my opinion she is the ultimate ambassador for equestrian sport in general - So happy, friendly...
The above poster has given you some good advice.
We struggled for 10 years, before realising we were doing it the wrong way. But, we knew a lot about racing/breeding/pedigrees before we lept in. But..... everything that could go wrong, did go wrong!! Starting with 2 mares, one died (after 2k...
where do you buy it in bulk? i asked every feed/farm shop i could find near me and they all said they havent sold it for years or if they did, their prices were higher than the micronised stuff.
I would love to buy it and cook it up myself as i have a slow cooker, but i cant find it anywhere :(
I'm pretty sure horses with strangles should not be given antibiotics and it makes it spread through their body and they get abcesses all round their organs (Basta*d strangles)
There was an interview with a former IRA member who admitted he was part of the team who kidnapped him, so they definately did do it, cant remember his name.... sean something??
TBB - thankyou , i was considering angus, and the prices you've given seem to be around the same as some local market reports ive seen here.
Would you recommend buying from smaller farms/breeders or buying from markets?)
Nokia, thankyou for the advice. I considered going the dairy bull calf route as it seems such an awfull waste, but the advice i was given was that considering the cost of milk replacer etc, I really wouldnt get much beef as its like trying to fatten a greyhound. Also im looking to raise 'free...
Thanks Martlin - It would be purely for myself and family and friends (and i would imagine the beef would last us quite a while even sharing it!) so whilst i dont want to spend a huge fortune, profit isnt really a major condideration.
Im thinking of a fairly hardy breed that will mostly live...
Woah woah woah!!!! let me explain ....i would never consider feeding my horses silage just so you are aware.
I am looking into getting a couple of calves to raise for beef as i have a bit of spare grazing. Therefore im just looking into what the feed costs might be. Being a 'country' as well...
