Best management for tear in DDFT

I honestly swear by the ice vibes, it meant that the infection in my mares tendon sheath was picked up early. I also used it all through the hand walking and also now before I ride and afterwards as well they are worth their weight in gold!

Thanks for advice it’s just something I’ve never really dealt with personally before so I am finding it all a bit confusing. We are following vets advice and being sensible so hoping for a good outcome ?

Thanks it’s been a bit complicated basically the horse who tested positive doesn’t have normal symptoms no temp no snotty nose just a cough which cleared after a day of antibiotics and no temp. We are temp checking twice a day and being vigilant but in two weeks no horse has had a temp including...

Any help/advice appreciated my horse seems to be in the clear but one of the horses has come back as having it on scope sample. This horse has been isolated and we are not hacking out following all advice to stop spread but as it’s not something I’ve ever really dealt with and just wondered if...

Best management for tear in DDFT

Hey I have rehabbed a horse with two ddft tears in the fetlock area as well as annular ligament thickening and manica flexoria removal. I found the ice vibe boots to be an absolute life saver and I used them twice a day if not more. I would put them on before hand walking and then with ice...

    Fly Udder cover

Sorry if this has been done to death, my mare got mastitis from flies last year despite wearing a p-e fly rug with belly flap, not an option for her to stay in during day unfortunately so looking at options I’ve found the snuggy hoods udder covers which go on to the sweet itch rugs but I think...

    Ddft injury

Ah ok yes so on mine manica was so shredded it was removed and good news on no damage to ddft so I think you are in a good position for good rehab. Mine had 2 3-4cm tears in ddft so if we can be back pootling then you should be ok too! Hope it all goes well it’s a long lonely journey xx

change my mind - what controversial/guilty horsey things do you do and not feel guilty for??:)

I tie my mare up and expect her to stand nicely without hay, I tie her to the tap and if I wander off to get shampoo she stands there, I don’t tie up to groom or tack up, I often leave her in tack unsupervised I feed treats for no reason and she never mugs me. weirdly I don’t like to put her to...

    Ddft injury

It was a very hard rehab, she had an allergy to stitches and then sadly an infection in the tendon sheath so lack of hand walking early on meant development of adhesions. But after a long long 18 months she is now off painkillers and last summer and up until December we were back riding in walk...

    Katie Price.

Rascal if so concerned report to RSPCA etc I think they are more than likely busy with actual abuse cases. As already stated I've actually met her and seen how horses and animals are looked after and imho that was excellent so why continue its a bit weird!

    Katie Price.

I used to work for her many years ago only on a Saturday and for about six months. I can honestly say she was lovely really down to earth she cared for all of her animals so absolute rubbish whoever said she didn't care!! She would always ask after me and my horses and often offered that I could...
