Had the most wonderful ride on my spooky 6 year old Arab - three hours in the sunshine - through the woods and up onto the moors. Lots of trots and some canters. Managed a shoulder in up the road and half pass across. He's such a star.:)
Company for each other. Horses are herd animals and to keep one on its own IMO is not right.
I have two on my own farm. Both are ridden, together when my friend comes or on their own when I'm on my own. Both are fine left in the stable on their own for short periods, eg half a day or so...
