Have a look at Chapelstone. They cover East Anglia. I regularly ride on one of their arenas with my old boy who is quite fussy about the surface due to a bit of arthritis and he goes very well on it. Good build quality too.
I love chapelstones thirstybed. They are wood pellets that are designed specifically as horse bedding and not as log burning fuel so are super absorbent. It gives a lovely fluffy light coloured bed and a little goes a long way.
Have you looked at Chaplestone? They supplied the surface for a friends arena along with a lot of advise. They can do everything from the design to final build and are based in East Anglia too. Really lovely people.
I thought there was something wrong this morning when I wasn't woken up 30 minutes before the alarm was due to go off by a cold wet nose to the face telling me it was breakfast time. So I went down stairs to find a severed mouse head surrounded by a pile of pigeon feathers and realised they had...
Was wondering if any of you clever people could help. We took the boys for a bit of a photo shoot in the sunshine and the pictures are stunning but what is the easiest way to edit out things like the lead rope? I'm not great with computers so if anyone could suggest a simple programme to use...
So it turns out a friend on the yard caught him earlier on this week entering my field and asked what he was doing. He said he was going to pull the ragwort as he had already done the other fields (ones currently being rested) she told him not to do it as it needs to be dug out properly to which...
There are 60+ sheep on the land but sadly i only have an air rifle :( I've put a couple of signs up as suggested on the access gates so he can't miss them and hopefully I will catch him on his walk tomorrow. I will try to be polite to make him understand the seriousness of what he has done but...
Very irritating indeed. I'm sure he does think that he is being nice but you would think you would only have to say once 'please do not feed the horses'. But he has been told in many different ways by different people over the course of several month but he just can't seem to help himself...
thank you theocat
I think that does about cover it. Straight and to the point. Think I might laminate that up now.
Yes I think there is permissive access to the land under the conservationship/ Stewardship scheme but I will have to find out whether that is a set footpath or if it is open...
the access is through two metal gate but it is not really practical to lock these as it is a fairly busy livery yard.
The horses are not currently grazing this field and there is not much ragwort in the field at all. I pull it after it has rained when the ground is soft to get as much of the...
No because he pulled it and left it to rot scattered around the field. It is far more dangerous like that than when it is growing! There wasn't much in the field as I had already cleared most of it and the horses are currently not grazing this one and he doesn't know when we plan to put them...
Thanks for the quick replies. The fields are all electric fencing. An extra fence line has been put into the ponies field so they can't be reached. I thought about putting the dangers of ragwort especially once pulled on the notice, this was once I had calmed down and been talked out of putting...
