    Lymes Disease

Germany. The lump on the neck is definitely an old thrombosis. We stopped intravenous and are giving him oral antibiotics as his other side was very sore just after 2 days

    Lymes Disease

Confirmed it’s lymes disease. We’re starting treatment today. Does anyone know anything about Jugular Vein Thrombophlebitis (JVTP) in horses? My horse has his jugular on his left all swollen. It usually flares up after strenuous exercise or when it’s very hot. He came to me this way from...

    Lymes Disease

Hi everyone, My horse has been very lethargic for months and we’ve been running bloods on him. The test came back with partial results pointing to lymes disease. We will have full confirmation within the next few days. Has anyone had a horse with this? He is a 10 year old polo pony. Also...

    Horse bars

    Horse bars

He’s definitely not comfortable on the tarmac yet. I’ve been walking him very slowly, at his own pace, for about 100 yards to the field where we work the horses. The ground there is soft sand, and he seems much more comfortable, so I keep him walking for around 25 minutes in the arena. I’m...

    Horse bars

An update on the hoofs: I'm getting a lot of mixed recommendations at the farm I keep my horse at. 1. Hoofs are too short to be barefoot 2. he is flat footed - I should put shoes back on 3. Bars are definitely too long. I need to trim them. Any thoughts?

Thank you both so much :) I think I'll wait a few days walking him and see if there's any change on the bars. If not, I'll do a slight trim.

Hey everyone, I have a 10 yo polo pony. I removed his shoes 2 days ago because we’re not playing much polo these days because of the weather. Our arenas are soft sand. Within the past few months I’ve noticed these hard bits protruding from his soles. Now I’ve removed the shoes you can...
