Best 4x4 with most value for money for towing?

No idea, just at the thinking stage. Just bought a house so won't be for a while/year anyway.

Best 4x4 with most value for money for towing?

Might be convincing husband to get a 4x4 for towing. What do people recommend, noting that cost is an issue! Probably second hand or new on finance.

No riding for another 6-8 weeks - what to do with horse?

I fractured my arm 6 weeks ago and had a metal plate and 12 pins put in. In fracture clinic today the Dr said I have another 6-8 weeks recovery and to stay away from horses (fat chance). I came off as my horse bolted while I was mounting. Very high strung and green 9yo ginger WB. Bit of a...

How to teach a horse to stand still to be mounted?

I have tried searching past threads before anyone asks! I'm recovering from surgery following a bad accident trying to mount the horse I ride for a friend. He's always tried to set off once I'm mounted, and after a walk round the school he's fine. Only he did it once when I was getting on and...

    Broken shoulder owwww

Came off the naughty WB who thinks he's a racehorse today. Absolute agony- really messed up my shoulder and they've said surgery. No riding driving or working for 2 months:( He bolted and bronced when I was trying to get on, so tips on teaching him to stay still appreciated. Be nice as I'm in...

    How necessary are boots?

Bear with me. I've always used tendon/fetlock/brushing boots on my own horses, just as a habit more than anything. I'm currently riding an 8 year old, very forward going chestnut WB gelding, who is a fairly fine build, like a stocky TB. He was bred and bought for dressage, but his owner...

New horse - 8yo WB never jumped before and issues

Hi, A horse I'm riding is wonderful. However he was bred and bought for dressage. I'd like to try a bit of jumping with him, and have been doing trotting poles and cross poles. However he's just trotting over the jumps! I don't want to raise them to an upright and risk him refusing. Has...

    Feeling blue

I became pregnant in 2011 and my husband said I'd have to sell my horse, and give up work. Which I did, so I am now horseless and a stay at home mum. Various friends have offered their horses to ride but it never seems to work out, and what I want to do is compete. Yesterday my husband said that...

Advice on teaching kid to ride

We do it all day, he's obsessed with telling you what letter everything starts with. Although his preschool push phonetics so it's all "ah" "buh" "cuh" etc. and we do writing work for letters and numbers nearly every night. I'm definitely not going to be this pushy with my second!

Advice on teaching kid to ride

Thanks for your replies, I got round to reading them after fighting to upload a picture, and there's some great ideas for us to try! He's quite a clever little boy (if I say so myself) and knows his letters and words that start with those letters so the school idea is a good one, and I can...
