Something like a Horslyx - but without the sugar?

Horslyx have less sugar than you would think considering how much they take in

Another fall, another new hat required

I loved my 4* but felt i was at significant risk of falling off due to passing out via heat exhaustion 🤣

Another fall, another new hat required

Interesting responses. I used to wear a CO 4* but i find it too hot for training. I did go with the plan to get a skull cap and particularly wanted Mips but none in stock fitted me.

Another fall, another new hat required

So I was flung in the yard and fell hitting the top, back of my head. Now even though my hat hasn't a scratch on it (PE hat) 2 days later I still have an egg on my head. I dont remember years ago, when hats were so we'll padded they used to consist of 90% sweat, getting a lump if i banged my...

    Bedding for a damp stable

My stables are 16ft by 16ft and I have a very deep thick bed, to start i used 13 bags in each stables and then 2 bags of miscanthus on top. It became stable after a day or so and I put in a new bag every 10 - 14 days.

    Bedding for a damp stable

My stables can be quite damp as they are big, old, open fronted carriage sheds. I use a base of wood pellets (dry) topped with miscanthus

Possible move to Yorkshire - property market? Places to avoid? Land?

Even though my mileage doubled, traffic is much better and it takes me half the time. If he is travelling into Sheffield I'd...

Bedding for stable on bare earth?

I have very old, patchy concrete, so it's not great. I have been using wood pellets, lots, dry and deep initially, they soon firm up with moisture in air and from ground, horse. Then I top up with miscanthus and really like this

Any recommendations on how to calm an extremely anxious horse

Speaking for solidarity! My gelderlander is now 19, I bought him as a 6 year old and he was totally psychotic. He is naturally very edgy and anxious, even now, but TRT had a massive impact on his life. I also use horse first Relax Me calmer, which has helped

    2026 goals and 2025 recap

I can't recall my 2025 but it certainly didn't go to plan, particularly with Ray taking longer to break that expected! so lets get them in for 2026 actually start riding Ray away - we are going with a very low pressured start to ridden career. I want him out and about and confident in life...
