Lottie and Everdale latest test wins, God help us rewarding this disgrace.

    Tbs yay or nay?

I wouldn't buy an ex racer. I would buy an established horse already doing what you want.

    Adventurous April weekend plans?

Had quite a busy weekend! Took Bean out for a jumping clinic and she was very good! Clearly she just found dressage a bit boring and enjoyed being back to more fun stuff 🤣. I have also been making sure to actually ride her now rather than just constantly babying her which has improved things...

Why the number 4 as show jumping penalties?

Why the number 4 as show jumping penalties?

Have to say I don't think a rider with a stop XC should beat a rider that hasn't (and hasn't gone ridiculously slow either).

Why the number 4 as show jumping penalties?

Same with SJ time penalties, eventing has reduced them from 1 to 0.4 so now everyone can creep round the course.

The ethics of genetics (within horse breeding)

An interesting case study on this is the current discussions to outcross the Lipizzaners with PREs as there is now a too small and too in bred population which is causing real issues.

The ethics of genetics (within horse breeding)

Yes you make good points but, breeds are not separate species so you could always outbreed a population while still keeping to a reasonable phenotypic expression. Also need to be careful to not allow a deleterious gene to proliferate through a small population and then make it impossible to...

Quite. And not to derail this thread but a horse passed away yesterday after his showjumping round at the world cup finals.

Days between initial first, second and third vaccines

Yes they have to if you want to compete.

Days between initial first, second and third vaccines

If you are competing and your horse started their vaccination course before Jan 2024 then as long as the time periods match the table on the left and you have your annual boosters in time then okay to compete. If you start a new vaccine course after Jan 2024 then it must follow the time periods...
