A few of the older books that I have that are autobiographical and may be of interest are listed below (dating from 1880-2000). Copies can usually be found on ebay/Abe Books for a few pounds (a couple of the older ones are a little more expensive). The authors are a range of well-known...
The Mini Marvels is a blast from the past! I had a quick look and found these:
A short video of one of Tanya's shetland long-reining displays from 2008 (the clip is at the beginning but the whole video is quite fun, but looks alarmingly old now!):
This very short clip shows three of them...
I'm sorry that her time came @SEL, it is never easy to loose a much loved animal. She looks like a really beautiful cat, and she was lucky to have an owner who put her needs before their own grief when it was time to make the final decision.
I don't envy the emergency workers who have to deal with dog attacks, the injuries that they deal with must be pretty grim, as well as the fear of the dog(s) still being around if they haven't been caught yet.
There's a little more detail here, the breed of the dog hasn't been confirmed but it...
Just to clarify, ear cropping in horses for fashion reasons usually consisted of trimming the pinna (the external ear tissue) at the top and sides to produce a smaller, daintier ear. It didn't usually involve the removal of the whole pinna, and wasn't as severe as seen in ear-cropped dogs these...
He looks like a lovely sort, and even from the picture he looks like a very grown-up personality so I see what you mean about more woah than go being a possibility. I have one who is a bit too much woah for me ideally, but he is incredibly safe; when I met his breeder a couple of years ago I...
In theory it should be the same as 'normal' meat, as it is just cells originally taken from an animal replicating themselves to form tissue. But they are fed nutrients in order to grow, and I don't know whether those nutrients are the same things that 'normal' meat would be exposed to, or if...
I don't know if it depends on the local council or if it's a national rule, but I would check out what your council's rules are for siting it near a road. In the last area where I kept horses the landlord had converted a derelict barn into stables and the planning dept had been very strict about...
Could he have looked so awful because he'd been away straying or got lost for a while? And once he found your nice food he just kept returning as well as going home. It seems odd that someone would neglect a cat to that degree but a) care if someone else fed it and b) pay for and organise a...
Ear cropping was fairly common right up until the 1800s. It was usually performed for aesthetic reasons as dainty ears were seen as a sign of quality in gentlemen's horses. As this was a working horse the ears may have been cropped for looks, or it may be the result of an injury or a bizarre...
I haven't heard about any prosecutions for not wearing a lead or muzzle or not having an XLB licensed, except in cases where the dog has attacked and owner ended up in court because of that, has anyone else seen any? I realise the police are very busy, but I can see why a certain sort of owner...
If anyone is interested I've found more information about Old Billy and his life here, including a couple of pictures of him (the colour one was too large a file to add to this post):

Bit of a shame they only stuffed poor Billy's head, although as he was known for getting hangry maybe the body was too big to save! It is nice that the head and stories about him still exist as he seems to have been a big part of local folklore.
It would be interesting if they were able to...
