Anyone having problems with The Horse Bit Shop?

Not had that but had a terrible time trying to order a nathe and they eventually sent the wrong one about two months later. Got a refund but they weren't happy about it.

    Superfix Sportmax - anyone used?

I know this is a bit late, but I have been using it for about 10 months now and think it's great, I first bought it for my horse who had done a tendon, and later used it on my mum's arthritic pony. My horse has had a great recovery so far (don't want to jinx it ;)) and my mum's pony has proved...

    Collegiate tack - reviews please

I've had one for three or four years now and it's one of the best bridles I've ever had, especially for the price (I think about £80-100?). I've had others in between and other than my Silver Crown bridles, nothing else has compared.

    Silver Crown bridle?

I have two, one that I bought at the Olympia before last (so a year and a half ago) and the other I bought 6 months later at Hickstead (so almost a year). They are both the brown - nut with white stitching - la baule headpiece and grackle. They still look fantastic, barely look used apart from...

    FFS tack? Opinions?

Bought a bridle from them for my mum about a year ago now, it still looks good, I don't think it's stretched and we haven't exactly cleaned it after every use. The noseband bit of the crank is perhaps a bit rough along the edges now, but it's far better than a JW bridle I bought and that has...

    BD Membership

Not helpful but it might make you feel better to know that the BS offers (including 6 months) are only if you have NEVER been registered before, otherwise it's now £129 for you and £75 for the horse, so BD really do the best deal for membership, especially as you don't need to be anything more...

Help with jumping my nervous horse?

One of my horses is a 1.15m horse, but had a massive confidence knock and wouldn't go near a jump in the ring. She's had a lot of time away from jumping and is now coming back to it, and it is very much a working progress but I have started right from the bottom with walking over just a pole...

Saddle fitting advice -back lifting off over fence - is this normal?

If the horse starts to bascule on take off generally it will come up a bit, if it looks reasonable and it's not moving on landing I would say it's ok. If you're worried put a saddle pad under it to give a bit of a cushion.

    Equitip Myoplast

We used it at work for a horse who had an operation and something like 6 months box rest. He was extremely weak and with a combination of good/the right work and this he's now looking great and is no longer having it. We were prescribed it by the vet but you can buy it from viovet. It's funny...

    ****Weekend Plans****

Giving in my dissertation today (eee!!), lesson tomorrow, work on sat and then *hopefully* my horse's first show (dressage unaf) in a year on sunday due to various things but mainly because he's a bad loader/traveller. Not going to say he's got any better incase I jinx it!

    *SHOWJUMPERS* - Technical jackets

I just have to say even if you spend the £££ on an animo you won't regret it! They are so comfy and easy to wash, keep a good quality and fit. Would never be able to go back to a non-technical (had to wear my old tweed thing for an exam and looked awful), and will get an animo again eventually...

    CS-energy/turnout/musings:brainstorm please!

Had a thought while I was lunging earlier about this but could some of his spark be due to the atmosphere at the winters? A lot of horses light up at a stay away show and really try.

    cc please??

It looks like he's quite willing to work rounder for you once everything is ready, there are some points in the video where he's offering it/showing you. I would suggest rolling your shoulders back and wrapping your legs around him. It looks like he might be the type to jog when you put your leg...

Anyone had a broken shoulder? (Human.)

I did mine in exactly the same place, although mine was just a simple (compound) fracture so nothing needed to be done other than wear a sling. Because it was just in a sling I was able to move it when I could and rest it the rest of the time I think I (naughtily) got back on a horse at about 4...

    Help/Any ideas why...

Horses do all kinds of weird things in February, unless it seems really injury related it's best just to write most things off as them just being weird haha
