Another good thing to think is as well as outside leg back, think of inside leg forward. A lot of people concentrate on getting that outside leg back and the inside leg swings back too so negates the purpose of the outside leg.

If it's your whole leg that's turning and not just your feet, which is more likely. When you're sitting in the saddle grab the back muscle on your thigh and pull it out and back. This has the effect of pulling your leg around so your inner thigh lies flat on the saddle and puts your leg flush...

Only ever used the webbing ones, but my fat girly always manage to get enough through it on short or long grass. Though she did give them plently of stick and was always making the holes bigger!
