Thanks Suechoccy - that's as long as the glue holds out..... ;-) to be fair, yesterday as soon as I stopped her she then walked nicely home as I had asked.
Thanks charliecrisps - I don't really have a school as such as we are on a farm, but could definitely school in a paddock. The weird thing is my other mare is a total trollop when it comes to bucking and dumps me about once a year (always when she is in season!) with her I am so used to it I...
Hi all,
myself and my mum bought a horse in June to share. She is pretty darn perfect in all respects. Except she has recently started to do the occasional buck. The first time, it was a really hot day and she got bitten by a horse fly up under her chin. My mum was riding her and I was riding...
My mare is a pain in the proverbial backside when she is in season. For this reason, in the past I have had a marble fitted. This kids them into thinking they are pregnant. Then they don't cycle. It gets taken out in the late autumn though. Made a hell of a difference to my mare. Your vet would...
Interesting! I will have a look into this but I'm guessing if this is an older injury I might be too late now. It seems to go down a bit with work I must admit, its like she is stiff a bit to begin with on a hack but then eases into it. She trotted a little short yesterday but then was fine...
My mare sustained a thoroughpin injury around 3 months ago when she got her back leg caught up in a rug strap. Vet came out, we did a fortnight of box rest and cold hosing, bute and controlled hand walking. She was then turned out into a small paddock and controlled exercise kept going. She was...

I've had horses for years and I certainly don't think its a big ask for them to be happy in their own company. Old girl has lived and hacked on her own for 7 years. I was thinking about giving her some more grass to keep her occupied. But in the years and years I've ridden I have always...
Thanks alexmac, no I keep them at home on a farm so they have some sheep and cows in the fields next to them but no other equine company. I can't believe they have become like this in the space of 5 days though! I think I will split them tonight and put them in separate paddocks again as they...
Don't touch E+L with a barge pole!! Had to claim from them years ago and it was an absolute nightmare. Took absolutely ages. I use SEIB and they have been fab and I've claimed from them twice. Couldn't have been easier.
