    How much is reasonable

The problem isn't the monthly cost but the cost of paying the rent and then all the maintenance work.

    How much is reasonable

But we would be getting much better facilities, our nearest diy livery is 85 a month which includes a stable, tack room 24/7 turnout and access to a a arena.

    How much is reasonable

We've been renting for the last 4 years occasionally with other people. I don't really care about the fencing, it is 20+ years old but our girls are very good. Surely part of being a land owner is helping cover maintainance and looking after your assets ? 120 for nothing for four years...

    How much is reasonable

We are currently renting a 2 and a half acre field on the edge of Oxfordshire. We have two ponies and a horse. We currently pay 120 a month. We have recently been quite concerned because the fences are very old and rotten and the field shelter needs repairs. The land lady refuses to help pay for...

    Napping/ Bolting

I have a very naughty pony she has almost always napped when out alone, but this is usually a very half hearted stop and turn around, which is fine she also used to refuse to go forward but I managed to stamp that out however she has a new trick. Lately she has taken to bolting home as soon as...

    Bad habits

I agree, I did some work with her this evening and I can see it's going to take her a while to get over it, but it's not impossible she has started to respond. So I will be patient and positive with her and buy loads of treats x

    Bad habits

Recently I have had some difficulty with my mare, she has developed another bad habit and I want to nip it in the bud ASAP. It started about two weeks ago when she got spooked by one of the builders, who came too close with his digger, when I was tacking her up. She went crazy and managed to...

    Which bit would you suggest.

She's not happy in the Pelham that's the whole issue.

    Which bit would you suggest.

I haven't tried a ported mouth piece or ever used one, i will definitely keep it in mind and see if i can burrow one, hopefully we will find a good bit soon it seems to be a long process at the moment!

    Which bit would you suggest.

I wouldn't have a problem with it but she definitely would, she will constantly fight against her Pelham and gets very worked up. At the moment I'm torn between a loop snaffle or a Dutch gag, it all depends what she thinks of course!

    Which bit would you suggest.

Thanks everyone I am so proud of my girl, she has been so good She's just coming back into work from an injury, so has been off 3 months so considering we've gone from a three ring Waterford to a snaffle she has done incredibly well- although I'm sure it'll be a different story when we canter...

    Which bit would you suggest.

I have a rather strong mare who came to us this autumn, with a pelham and Waterford bit as well as a flash and standing martingale, ive taken both her flash and martingale off and am trying to get her bit down the levels. I've started at the bottom and ive given her two rides in a French link...
