PSSM and RER - positive outcome stories please :)

As Paddy555 has explained, I also highly doubt her CK levels will decrease if she is standing in on box rest. Management wise PSSM horses/ponies should be able to move about in a paddock, I would actually expect her to slowly deteriorate standing in. There is lots of research from the states...

PSSM and RER - positive outcome stories please :)

My friend has a 5 yo mare with PSSM and she is very carefully managed. She is in a paddock by herself with neighbours next door for company. She is lightly backed (the vet recommended waiting) at the moment, with the aim to get her broken in this year. She is on very very poor grazing to...

    Should I soak grass nuts?

I have always soaked grass nuts. As darkwater has said when you see how much they can expand I wouldn't feed them dry now!!

Bringing an older horse back into work after a while off

My boy is now 27 and still very happy to be in work. He always has from about mid Oct - end Feb off work and we gradually work up to being fit enough to ride prelim dressage in the summer and enjoy a good blast down the beach :) Due to daylight I can only hack at the weekend so I go in the...

Feeding for weight gain in a 21 yr old field kept warmblood

I would also recommend soaked grass nuts. My 26 yo DW thrives on them along with adlib haylege overnight in the field.
