I think using the net with a barrier of some sort will be the best option. I will look forward to hearing what you think to the Tricklenet and get my husband to get his building something suitable skills head on
I'm impressed with the hockey net idea but I'm pretty rubbish at doing anything like that. Have you found the real one you bought did actually fit over a round bale. I have read conflicting reviews on the nets.
Hi I'm looking for recommendations for the best round bales hay nets. Alico and Gee tec seam to have varying reviews.
Any one had a good experience for the durability of these I'd appreciate your advice.
May thanks
Hi, I recently acquired my two mares, both 5 year old. One is shod and was used as driving. Other is barefoot and unbroken. I want to eventually go barefoot with both but need the services and advice of a good reputable trimmer. Any recommendations for any in the Doncaster area would be great...
Thanks for all your input and suggestions guys. I might cut out the hard feed which is basically a pony mix and given more to make me feel like I'm doing my best for them. I doubt they need it as they have adlib hay and are good doers. I think it's myself I need to correct and not the horses. Oh...
Thank you for your reply. I will do the suggestions I think I hoped for too much too soon. Will make sure dominant mare gets the attention she needs first and try to stop forcing the issue.
I can see where your coming from with this reply thank you. I did think about cutting out the hard feed as they are not yet ridden or in any real work. I think I also need to look toward feeding them in their stable. I don't actually stable them but they do have one each if they want to go in so...
Once the food is put down they will happily eat together it's just the initial bit when they see their tubs coming. I took the smaller mare to give a good rub down and the bigger mare cried like a baby because she couldn't see her lol. So hopefully she doesn't totally hate her she just seams...
Hi guys
Sorry for the long post but I need advice.
I bought 2 mares within a few weeks of each other in January and did the gradual introduction over a few weeks. They were already familiar with each other as from the same yard anyway but didn't share a field. Both are sweet ponies both Welsh X...
Ditto with my two, not even evidence that they bothered to go inside or eat any of the hay inside either. I brought hot water to mix with their hard feed, thinking oh my poor babies need a warm meal so cold today hahaha.... turned round and they'r both rolling in the snow !! I have now renamed...
Hi everyone
I have taken the plunge and returned to horse ownership at the lovely ripe age of 52, as my husband also decided to jump on the band wagon we now own 2..... ouch !!
It's been years since I had a pony and my OH has never been involved with horses, apart from having a love for them...
