Recently opened a new haylage bale at the yard and it has a horrible fish like smell coming from it, it also has large mouldy areas which are concerning.

You could ask around, put a little advert in a few local tack shops? He sounds great, and I'm sure someone would love the opportunity to exercise/compete him for you.

The only reason I hadn't phoned the vet sooner was that the rash had looked to have mostly gone/healed (don't want you thinking I am neglecting him :o), leaving only the scabs which were dropping off, and leaving what looked like healthy skin underneath.
