Yes - the clyde cross in my profile picture. Diagnosed at 4, like Errin he would move off lame and then work sound until he suddenly went very lame on it. He had no response to steroids and not a candidate for arthramid so went down the surgical fusion route. He had surgery in the June and rehab...
I'm on the hunt for a collar but not sure if I'm looking for the impossible - can anyone help please?
He currently wears this PupCo collar and it's fantastic - fits him lovely, he prefers the wide fit and we like having the handle. Only problem is that he's worked out how to take it off so...
I'm honestly gutted the weather's been so mild - we had my 8 year old PTS mid October so that he went before the cold kicked in and it's been so mild it feels unfair that we could have had an extra month at least with him. Objectively I know it's better a week to early, but it's made a difficult...
I've just had a google and you can buy dehydrated carrot powder, so think that might work! Bit like a cocoa powder coating on a truffle 😅
Or garlic powder! Bonus for anti-fly properties as well :)
Unfortunately there isn't a great place to bring him out to - the yard is within a country park (which is amazing for hacking!) and this field opens onto a public path which isn't ideal
I'll be feeding them myself, just would rather avoid having to do the trek to the yard itself and back with a bucket as there's an easier spot to park next to the field, and there's no good place to feed him outside the field unfortunately. The recipe looks good, thank you! Is peanut butter okay...
He's terrible to syringe so would prefer something solid 😅 I'm going to have a hunt through some no bake recipes and see if there's anything slightly less sticky
My boy's going out on 24/7 turnout over summer (whoop whoop!) but the field is a fair trek from the yard itself. When he's been out 24/7 previously I've just dropped his bucket feed entirely but he's been having boswellia and devils claw for arthritis and I don't really want to risk dropping...
That's really helpful, thank you. The canter is interesting as he's always struggled to pick up the canter and his canter is definitely his weakest pace - he's big striding for a small horse but his canter is very small and tight
