I invested in an Equi-Dry last year and loved it. Can do all yard jobs in the morning on the way into work, take the coat off and I was still clean, dry and smelt fine to be in the office all day :D I fill water containers of an evening whilst i'm topping up buckets, found this was easier to top...
I bought a youngster last year and will be looking to send her for breaking next year. I did my last 2 horses myself, some 15 years ago, before unfortunately losing my facilities so I don't have much experience or knowledge of what a professional service offers. I have a few names to contact but...
Well done for seeing it through, it's all too tempting to pack up and call it a day after the first blip but it all goes towards building both of your confidence for the next outing. He is very handsome... and looks very pleased with himself 😄🥰
I've loved reading this thread, glad we weren't the only ones 😅!! As others have said, it seems to be down to management where people go wrong, and we definitely did. We got 2 goats and thought they'd be happy grazing with the horses in the field. An 8ft electric fence later.... they still...
That's really interesting, thank you for taking the time to respond :)Will certainly be using the worm counts going forward for them all as apposed to relying on a seasonal guess. I hadn't thought about regional affects either!
Just wondered if anyone else had experienced the same and whether it's usual or not...
Previously, I've always wormed horses according to seasons. For the first time, I've used one of the worm count companies and ordered some pots. Sent samples off and had the response today and was surprised...
I have waterproof seat covers, a boot tray and decent mats for the footwells. It still gets filthy and there's nothing worse than hay and straw stuck to the carpet  But it makes it easier to give it a quick clean, shake the mats out and seat covers, re-apply and buy another air freshener.
Can you get a professional to come and help you with the mare at your yard? I backed my mare (a long time ago) we got so far and then when you'd mount she'd explode and bronc until you came off. I got a local, highly recommended lady who took her back to basics and we re-backed her together and...
Completely feel your pain! I say no as 'i don't have anything suitable to ride' or 'i don't have time' both of which are true and then usually follow up with some recommendations of local riding schools. I can see why people ask and it can seem selfish to those who don't have horses, but as...
I'm sure she did a video on why the horse has such a huge neck, historic obesity? Can you not block the users you don't want to see? I'm not on tiktok but do follow her on insta.
I believe brown tack is 'traditional' for showing but for a piebald black would also look smart. I've only ever shown natives but I believe a sports horse would need to be plaited? Happy to be corrected!
Smart shirt, trousers, waist coat and hat would be good. When you stand the horse up for...
I've been using the Lincoln sun bloc which is pink - I like this as i can see where it's been applied (and which poor field mate he's rubbed his nose on ) I apply this in the morning and a fly mask with nose protection. If it's looking a bit scabby i'll apply sudocrem in the evening...
I have this problem too! I've got a Samsung Note which is pretty large and won't fit anywhere. I resorted to a bum bag that's thin material so it wasn't bulky, it looks like it's made from neoprene and I pop it under my top. Only thing is, it does get a bit warm
I've purchased a smart...
