Thanks so much for your kind message.Its utterly deflating isn't it to lose a foal-ours fought so hard but we just couldn't get him out in time-even with the help of 2 strong builders and our brilliant vet-who even took over the horrible job of skinning the foal for us.
Betty is recovering well physically and I think has finally accepted her foal is dead.She is back out by day with her 2 year old daughter who she still adores and I will put her back in foal but not til next year.
I think the window for fostering is passing now-it would be more stressful now to move her and get her milking again than it is to leave her with her daughter.
