thanks - I’ll pass on the advise to my mother but I’m not sure it will help! It’s a miracle she managed to get any video.. she’s not good with these things!
Thanks for your reply paddi. We can tend to get more on the firing in side when the fences go up a bit so I think I just need to work on keeping my cool, sit up and keep a nice even rhythm, not letting her rush.
Thanks LEC. I actually went in the smaller class and she was so ring shy and spooking at everything. I thought worth getting her out and about again before challenging ourselves! Hoping to do a BN in the next month or so.
I think you both look fab! Agree with PP if you could get his canter a bit more balanced on the corners etc. and then a bit more umph into the fences. If 90 XC insn’t an issue then I think he should easily be able to do the SJ.
Just wondered if anyone would watch my round and if you think it’s about the right rhythm? She can get a bit fiery and I can get a bit hunting style! But not too bad here? Any tips?
sorry about poor quality vid. It’s all my mum can manage!
I’m 37 now and have a 5 and a 3yo (kids). I was a bit ‘meh’ about the whole idea, I think when you have horses and dogs they take up that love? So you don’t really feel the need for babies. Anyway husband has always been cleats he wanted kids and I ran out of excuses so popped a couple of kids...
Just to add, I had a Welsh D when I was a teen. He was ace! Completely different to any other horse I’ve owned or ridden. Very lively, extremely stubborn!! He was so much fun and safe but by no means easy.
If you want fun and talented but challenging then I think it would be a good match.
Seems a bit of a jump for either, happy hacker OR 1.20/advanced dressage horse.
I would focus on thinking about what kind of horse you like and enjoy riding generally, while keeping in mind your current abilities and what you are willing to deal with. It might be that you can deal with a sharp...
I am in control just my legs ache after a few minutes. I guess just practice then. Thing with riding it does seem to use different muscles to everything else!
So I posted a video of me XC a couple of years ago and got a fairly large amount of criticism! One of which my stirrups weren’t short enough. They are pretty short now I think? But my legs really ache!! I’m quite fit as well, run etc. What exercises are good to stop the aching?

I have a lovely riding 6yo mare. She was broken at 4 by a trusted pro, then a bit with me and also a stint at another pro yard. She’s had a few long breaks for various reasons so not done much really for a 6yo.
Just for full background she was at the pro for sales livery but failed the vet on...
