I need some better every day riding boots so contemplating getting some new show boots and relegating my old ariat bromonts or mountain horse high riders to every day boots.
Can anyone suggest any suitable alternatives? Must be comfortable on the foot and supportive. I’m looking at the mountain...
This is what I have for my cob X Anglo Arab. I've never felt the horse move under me like that before, I love it. So secure as well. I've done dressage, sj, xc, trec stuff, hacking ... All in my solution native GP.
Thanks, given the fact it's a hanging cheek I'm after, I'm wondering whether to just get the 5 if nathe tend to come up big too, at least then it won't pinch. Horses, they cost me a bleeding fortune!
I have a 5.5" Pelham with the identical mouthpiece I could try for size, but chances are it'll drown her but might get an idea for sizing. Only thing putting me off hiring is the fact you get sent a used bit on some occasions, I'd rather have a new one if I'm paying £80 or so for a bit!
I'm looking into buying a myler bit. Horse is in a 5" nathe straight bar which IMO fits perfectly length wise. I know mylers tend to come up on the big side, so, do I order the 5" and pray it won't be too big, or 4.5" and pray it's not too snug?
It's a hanging cheek Mullen mouth I'm looking...
Wow! I've always thought that double joints were better than single joints. I used to have a single jointed happy mouth but my horse at the time hated it, not sure if I still have it or whether I got rid.
Had a look, it would appear shires do one with a slight port. Might look into getting one of those if it's legal.
I'm not after more control ljr, but more relaxation onto the bit. She'll come with work, but she's a bit stressy at first and takes a fair amount of working in. Wasn't sure whether...
My 4yo is currently being ridden in a nathe loose ring straight bar snaffle. It has been recommended that a hanging cheek might work better for her, but she is not strong, just struggling with the concept of relaxation, so don't want a stronger mouthpiece.
She isn't keen on NS or a standard...
What are your 4yo horses up to now?
Mines jumping a couple of times a week, schooling once or twice and hacking out as time allows (but hacks twice a week to my jump lessons so is getting out).
I asked about joint sups and was recommended hack up. I then got given joint sups from the vet so never ordered but insurance runs out later this year and hack up is cheaper so will be swapping over.
I have both, and hypermobility. I find the bow balance better for ankle stability and comfort as you have more of the sole of your foot in contact with the stirrups. I love them personally.
