I was just wondering on what the expectations are when showing a horse in hand, i have a coloured mare i would like to start showing this season but im not sure where to start as ive never done any in hand before with her.

She is 3, rising 4 i know this as i now have her passport, was spun a few yarns before getting her, she has also apparently done her training at a race yard but was never raced because she couldn't hold the condition :confused:, still though i aim to take things back to basics with her and...

i do find when she has been out she rides alot lighter and again cant say i noticed anything in the summer although her stance was still the same

She has wintered out up until 3 weeks ago when i bought her in a poor condition, since she has been stabled her legs just crusted right over and got progressively worse! shes on antibiotics at the minute to try and clear up the infection aswel as bute to take down the swelling and ease the pain...
She is out for the other mares mud fever so said she will take a look but if shes not lame and there is no heat or swelling she suspects arthritis to be the cause with the colder weather and her being stabled, i hope it is manageable whatever it turns out to be whats bothering her
