Questions we will never know the answers for!!

Why are you the messiest horse on the yard? (Stable poo stirrer....and yes part Welsh)

    Show me your oldies

Sorry, can’t post pic. Fast approaching 21 although only passported at “5” so possibly not accurate, is my welsh x (Newfie looking!) boy. He developed sore feet last week for the first time so instad of his preferred 24/7 turnout he is trying to break records for the messiest overnight stable...

Help, I have a Houdini! Electric fence advice please!

Hi, my tubby native is on “fat camp” with his very rotund buddy...but my boy likes a challenge and is good at escaping. He can get rid of a grazing muzzle with a head collar over and plaited into his forelock 🙄 so I’m going to have to get some electric kit, and would like...

    New colours for old!

His forelock is distinctly gingery, def not black, mane and tail darker but again mixed lighter hairs. His ears don’t have definite black points so that’s why I’m thinkinking not true bay. YO has suggested some sort of dun, but no dorsal stripe and too dark really anyway. I love his...

    Feed Balancers

My boy has Top Spec lite and much less than the guidelines as he’s on grass more hours than not and the one small feed he gets is a vehicle for glucosamine and airways supplements. He will get a larger amount in winter when there’s no grass.

    New colours for old!

Would like opinions please! I grew up in the times when a patchy horse was piebald or skewbald, and a “brown” one might be chestnut, liver, bay, brown or black-brown. I’m not sure if all the “new” colours apply everywhere or are meant for certain breeds/types only! My boy was...

    Racing today- Mankib, at Haydock

Thanks you for responding. I think it was an error for her to make that comment on TV, it didn’t sound good, and maybe she regrets wording it as if the horse didn’t matter. Hopefully neith Mankib nor JC are sore this morning. I reckon Mankib will need some TLC to cope with the stalls before...

    Racing today- Mankib, at Haydock

Just watching on catch up. Mankib reared in the stalls as the gates opened, hitting his head, and just after a ? buck which almost unseated and injured jockey Jim Crowley. Female commentator (name escapes me!) said “it’s a good job it was the horse’s head, not the rider’s”.....is that...

Any ideas for a remembrance tree for pony?

Please look at native trees, especially for a field. Maybe field maple, crabapple, elder, or a plum/damson?

    How did you and hello

Well...not much thought went into my username. I live in Suffolk. I’m an adult female. I also have natural chesnut hair. I can be moody. If I was here more often and had seen how to seasonally adjust my name I’d be suffolkmerryxmas.

    Insurance Exclusions and Removing Them

I can’t help with advice re. cribbing, and don’t know how you prove/disprove it unless you have cctv on the horse for a set amount of time?! BUT, I have successfully removed exclusions for a minor leg injury-the vet reported the cut had completely healed and no lameness- and a colic...

    Please slow down :(

Reading the comments I wonder how one contributor was so sure he had seen the same animals, especially if they were hard to see. His tone seems to imply that the ponies were at fault! He didn’t hit them because he wasn’t speeding! RIP PONIES

    Grand National

Great to see ITV have not only wished both Cue card and Saint Are happy retirements, they showed Saint Are trotting around at home. They then went on to detail the reasons the green screens are used, for the benefit of the general public who don’t always appreciate that they provide...
