Thank you all! Have opted to try split reins then move onto 2 reins. After a days hunting a stronger bit is certainly required!!

I'm thinking of putting my horse in a pelham for xc as he can get quite strong and I need the extra breaks. However I would prefer to not have to ride 2 reins xc. Have you cleaned his bits?! My boy was like this for a week or so had bloods checked, came back normal but transpired he had an infection down there and was feeling uncomfortable. Cleaned him up every other day and he's back to normal. Might be worth a look/try?!
