    Norfolk Lurcher

Does anyone have a Norfolk Lurcher? Can you tell me a bit about the breed? We've always had DH crosses but I'm interested in these. Many thanks

Am I overreacting... someone fed my horse and I don't know what.

FWIW and getting back to the original issue, I used to have a horse who delighted in chucking his empty feed bowl around. One day we found it 3 stables down - to this day I'm not sure how he got it there but as he had previous, we could only assume that he had hurled it in the perfect arc so it...

My dog has eaten half a tin of celebrations...

My dog, in his time, has eaten a whole Christmas cake, box of fudge including wrappers, box of Guylian chocolates, umpteen dairy milk bars, a bowl of olives, a whole ham, countless loaves of bread and so on. He is a very well fed and well exercised deerhound/otterhound/greyhound cross. I think...

Balding under breastplate straps on shoulder!

I also found using canter coat shine on the areas helped the tack to 'slip' more easily. Obviously not if it's a girth or similarly crucial piece!

Can anyone give me an idiots guide to Pony Club please?

I think all this tells you is that it depends entirely on the volunteers running the Branch and the ethos of that Branch (same with any club really). Although there are some horror stories on here, there are plenty of good experiences. All Branches should offer you a free rally and I would...

What will be the next big change in equestrianism?

I'm talking about the UK where lottery funding (which provides a significant proportion of funding for the world class programmes) is dependant on Olympic medal potential. If there are no Olympic medals to be won, then the funding vanishes with the subsequent knock-on effects on national sports.

    Dogs out hunting?

I think all hunts are wary of diseases spreading from 'civilian' dogs to the hounds so we sometimes get emails saying exactly this. I wouldn't bring my dogs as they would actually quite like to be out there hunting themselves and subsequently would behave appallingly! I'd hate to get sent home...

What will be the next big change in equestrianism?

Eventing and Dressage will be out of the Olympics. There will be a massive loss of funding for world class training once there are no longer medals to aim for. Both disciplines will become accessible only to the super-wealthy or those with private backing. Horse-owning and riding will become...

    Shell shocked at new home??

It may be that he is not liking the new surface. One of ours always loathed the surface at a previous yard to the point where we ended up moving yards and he was significantly more willing to work. I'd be hacking out and schooling outside as much as possible and see if you can bring that...

    where????

Whereabouts are you? I know of a couple of 17 yos who are looking for quality share/loan arrangements. Both are B test holders and with eventing experience - one more BE and the other more PC/UA.

    English Bull Terriers.....

How funny - husband and I were talking about this at the weekend as we would both love one. It's disappointing to hear as I was hoping that an EBT might be easier than greyhounds and lurchers!!! They're still lovely though and I suspect we might find space for one somewhere.
