Apologies if I am very late to this topic, or replicating an existing one. What exactly are they used/good for? Is there any scientific research/proof of their efficacy? I have obviously googled it, but only appear to have come across the sales-shpeel/marketing gumff. Recommendations please or...

Sellers who don't price in their advert, or won't give a price "range" upon phone enquiry are just time wasters or chancers. They don't seem to realise they impede interest & a potential sale. :rolleyes:

I'm with Tiddlypom & irishdraft on this. An 11yo that doesn't/won't/can't canter ? (after 18months schooling!) Not proven to hack road wise or with company? Of little value.

Personally I couldn't be bothered with a committed rearer. It's a habit once learned...... never forgotten. It becomes their first line/choice of defence. Damned bloody dangerous too. Just my opinion 'thru experience.

Each Irish horse I have purchased, I have found to have been properly broken, (albeit still quite/very green.) But, all have had good soft mouths.

I'm sorry for the situation you find yourself in. However .......... I read only to your third sentence saying that you "purchased unseen" Perhaps your story will act as a damned big red flag of warning to other inexperienced purchasers.
