I have a big young horse who is still a little behind the leg. Today I went out and did a walk trot test. Im struggling with the fwlr. I understand he should show stretch and lengthen the walk but how do you get a 'lazy' horse to do a bigger walk. When I offer the rein he slows. When I watched...
No...not after 3 years. He has seen a vet on numerous occasions. Different physios osteos etc. But I have like I said decided to now to get a more in depth work up...he displays no obvious symptoms. No spooking at the same thing like u describe.
That's the next port of call. The thing is he doesn't always run off or do anything to make me or my regular vet think that he is in any sort of pain. He works well in the school it's when taken away from horses I find it happens. But yes I'm just discussing that now x
Doing anything alone. Hacking, travelling mainly. He said it was fear. And that can be sorted in one session which is fine. But no amount of groundwork, de spooking and repetition sorts it. 😣
I'm tempted to buy a go pro so u guys can c what he does. I've tried so many instructors, methods. I spent 350 on a well known IH trainer and nothing....
I'm in bristol. I've sent a fortune on calmers nothing seems to work. I'm just hoping due to his really late start he will be OK just will take longer. He really is a nice person. Just can't seem to get in his head. I've thought about sending him away but worry the problems will return when...
I will do. I'm hoping the lady that comes out can shed some light on the situation. I've heard really great things about her. I've spent all this year getting him out seeing the world hoping to do a couple of odes at the end of the season...but due to his napping would be a waste of money so I'm...
Well we have hit 7 and he is still difficult...I think he has confidence issues with being alone. I'm trying a horse communicator. She if she can shed some light. I thought horses were meant to be fun....I've had a difficult 3 years.
Am looking to take my 7 year old out this season to hopefully get him a bit more forward. Any recommendations? Am based in Chipping Sodbury. Nothing to wild for our 1st attempt.
Thanks
