    1000 miles hacking....anyone doing this??

I used OS mapfinder, i also downloaded saferider lite but cant get the gps to connect for some reason. The os mapfinder was pretty good though. It records time, average speed and distance as well as plot the route taken on a map. You can also save the trail which will make it easier to keep...

    1000 miles hacking....anyone doing this??

I have :) Im not a massive hacker but im intrigued as to whether we can hit the target in a year. Using one of the apps has been interesting already as didnt realise one of the shortish routes was as long as it was lol. Its pretty simple to sign up and the easiest way to track is to download...

How many horses do you actually know with ulcers?

Mine is a tbx, her only real signs are girthiness and the fact shes a cribber. Flip side though shes a good doer, not stressy, very easy going, no ridden quirks. So not quite typical ulcer horse to look at. But she got diagnosed with grade 2 ulcers in both parts of her stomach after a couple of...

    Cyclist'a lack of manners

Run into quite a few cyclists round me and the majority of the time they are OK, sometimes even say thanks (dont expect them to when i overtake at anything more than a crawl mind). When I'm on the horse a lot will even shout morning back at me which is nice :) But theres always a few that ruin...

    Solar powered electric fence unit

I bought one not too long ago off ebay. Very happy with it so far, works when cloudy/dark for a few days as it holds so much charge. I'm told it packs quite a punch too lol!

    Mutual Grooming?

I love it when they nuzzle back! But if a horse does nip i push their nose away first time and if they do it again i just stop. My girl rarely grooms me back though. When she does it's for a rather short time and usually on my neck or bum which is always funny :p She is slightly special...

Update on my Injured Gelding - Leg Wound

It's funny how different vets recommend different things :p mine wanted complete box rest for the first couple of weeks to limit movement on a similar but smaller knee injury. You do get different strengths of manuka honey and as far as I'm aware (not really tried it) the higher the number...

Update on my Injured Gelding - Leg Wound

No it shouldn't be on that long at all, its very good for a wound to be able to breath and dry off. I would ask the vet about taking it off personally, i mean if he's allowed out a bit i don't see why the bandage is still on, both times Oreos done similar injuries the bandage always came off...

Update on my Injured Gelding - Leg Wound

Wow that is looking so much better! I'm actually surprised you're still bandaging going on that picture, it's looking super clean and for lack of a more technical term..'filling in' well :)

Anyone else bored of no riding.....

Well he didn't waste any time doing that!! It is nice to hear of those unable to ride as they have retired horseys, see so many old horses for sale for peanuts at the minute which i always find sad. Good to see those that stand by their retirees :) Congrats shadowboy on your bundle of joy...

Anyone else bored of no riding.....

Its been a week and a half since Oreo the idiot injured herself again and i am so utterly bored and frustrated not being able to ride! Especially since we were doing so well together, and merely 2 days beforehand got 68.2% in our second ever novice test :( No idea how she managed to do it...

    Individual Grazing

Personally i much much prefer it for my horse. She is quite antisocial and only gets on with certain individuals, generally only geldings. She once jumped out over a five bar gate (well more like flipped over it! :o ) as she hated being in such a big herd. A same sex herd would be the worst type...
