Update on Ruby Treasure - and power of HHO

Remember that a weigh tape is our most accurate way of estimating weight, unless you are lucky enough to have a weigh bridge. But it is only a guide and as you are only measuring the circumference of the horse in one place, it is not perfect. If the horse puts on weight elsewhere first, then it...

Getting a mouth on a young horse?

Totally unnecessary imo. The way i bit a young horse is to make sure they have their teeth checked then choose a bit suitable for the individual mouth conformation. Little and often get them to wear the bit then gradually increase length of time and progress to working the horse. I HATE those...

    annoyed!

Rant away. It drives me insane. If people cant understand a young horse sufficiently to make it happy and it constantly expresses its stressed then they shouldnt have one. End of! Poor horse will become a 'problem horse', be psushed from pillar to post and wont stand a chance in life. It is such...

Advice about aggressive behaviour in the field

He didnt want to be caught so as he would do with another horse that he didnt want in his personal space, he did the same to you- tried to chase you away. You did the right thing by chasing him back.

    annoyed!

Hes expressing he isnt happy. His management must be totally conflicting to his needs if he behaves like that. Poor horse. I would be mortified if a horse in my care consistently behaved like this- he is trying to communicate that things aren't right! A contented horse does not fling itself...

    Long Manes and Combo rugs

If the horse really needs a full neck rug then you will have to accept she will lose some mane. With a traditional rug, just feed more hay- it will keep her warm from the inside. Then she will also have her own neck cover- her mane!
