I have 6 ponies trimmed for £132, so £22 each, in North Yorkshire. My old boy used to have front shoes and back feet trimmed for £50 but he has been in horsey heaven since summer 2017 so I don't know if the price of shoes has changed since then.
Kauto, Denman, Big Bucks, Masterminded, Faugheen, Douvan, Vautor, Quevega, Annie Power, Hurricane Fly, Hedgehunter, Papillon etc etc. He's ridden some seriously good horses in his time and will be missed. Fair play to him for quitting on his terms.
I've had 2 pts by injection, they were collected by the crematorium as I had them individually cremated. The vet arranged collection and they were both collected within an hour of being pts. I also had one die from a heart attack, he went for individual cremation too, the vet arranged collection...
Someone went through a phase of chucking dog poo bags down by my field gateway last year, yet there's a poo bin at the village hall less than 60 seconds walk away. I don't understand that mentality.
I always clear up my ponies/dogs poo at shows and take my rubbish home with me, it's something I...
I only have grass so it's either lunge on grass or not at all. If it's particularly wet and slippy or if the ground is rock hard I do give it a miss though.
My old boy died suddenly from a heart attack about 18 months ago. He weighed approx 325kg. I paid for collection of his body, individual cremation, ashes returned in a basket and his shoes removed and returned with his ashes. It was around £650.
So... the wheels have well and truly fallen off Might Bite's wagon :( BDM is a one trick pony :( Waiting Patiently was very unlucky :( Politologue should probably go Ryanair at Cheltenham (doesn't stay but would get his backside kicked by Altior in the CC), Thistlecrack is a warrior and deserves...
Hopefully Might Bite. I've seen a lot of nonsense written about him on various racing pages on social media since his failure at Haydock. Personally, I don't think you can write a horse off after one bad run. I hope he is back to his best.
I show M+M ponies. There are a few indoor shows on within a reasonable distance, I could probably show twice a month through the winter if I wanted to. However, I always give them time off and just let them be hairy ponies for a while. They will come back into work at some point in January and...
I see mine the same time as usual as they are at home.
The last livery yard I was on the YO made sure everyone had arrangements beforehand. I turned 3 extra out for people so they only had to go down later in the day. A few people went as usual and the YO did a couple that were on full livery.
This is from a few years ago (Harold, the foal, is now an 8yo and his Mum is a spritely 26yo) but this is Maud, the day she came home and approx 3 1/2 months later.
Bathed, wormed, treated for lice, had her feet trimmed and was checked out by the vet all within 48hrs of her arrival. Then spent...
