I think when I did it on my mare years ago (shes now 7) it estimated shed be 16hh and she turned out to be just shy of 16.2hh. It was an okay indicator but I wouldnt invest my hopes and dreams into it by any means
I dont really rate the BHS way any more myself either if Im honest. It was always a desire of mine to learn and go up in their ranks and achieve their qualifications but the more I progressed and understood as a rider, the more I realised there are AIs out there who havent a clue.

I did my lass as a two year old. I didnt really have reason to before then. I did plan to do a couple in hand outings as a 2/3 year old but never got around to it. She did first have a bit at 2 and once she was acquainted with it, I stopped annoying her with it until I started groundwork later on.
Thats the thing, no matter what sacrifices we may make in owning horses, its sure worth it, otherwise why would we continue to own them? The benefits far outweigh the sacrifice

I'm a Scot, living over the Irish Sea on the Emerald Island and have been here 10 years now
I have a horse, Kaje, who I've had since a foal. She's...
I forgot to touch on the positives much in my post but you're very right! I absolutely feel like the it all pays off when my mare looks at me across the field and comes wandering over. Just knowing they want to be around you in their means a lot
