I used to pretend to put stones and bricks in daughters pants and go with out stirrups seemed to work :)

We have always trotted on the roads no facilities and hacking is mostly roads so trot for up to 10 mins at a time in suitable spots never had any issues

My 2 are both in at night both wearing 200g 1 fully clipped and the other has a trace but feel nice early in the morning, I just go by the horse

i would leave for the winter then bring back in and start again taking things slowly.

i have a fully clipped tb in a no neck 200g stable rug and he feels toasty but he is a warm horse and my other tb not clipped in a fleece at night looking at what some horses have on makes me wonder but i am going by my own horses and how they feel.

yea he's totally addicted rides more than me since the children came along def got the bug its all about the horses!!
