    Cracker is home

Toast, Crackers dad has split his tail but I managed to heal it. He loves to bang his tail against anything that makes a noise, he'll back up to a door or cupboard. Cracker is VERY waggy.

    Cracker is home

I have 2 adult labs (my dog is his dad), a springer and a rescue cocker. The labs show me that I can train a dog. The springer (now 11 and failing in physical ways) and cocker remind me frequently that a lab is born half trained and a spaniel dies half trained.

    The decision

So sorry, as humans we have the privilege of being able to end pain and discomfort. It's never easy.

    Cracker is home

He's grown massively in a week. I saw him at 8 weeks just before we went skiing, he's only just 9 weeks now and has gone all lanky.

    Cracker is home

I collected young Cracker yesterday, he's being a good pup so far, slept all night, clean and dry. Getting the idea of using the garden. The other dogs are slowly getting used to him. Splat after trying to destroy a toy!

Since had 2 rescue staffies, friendly and fun with dogs and people. EBT breeding traits have changed a...

    Place Boards, gundog people?

Just thinking about 'stuff' for the pup arriving in March. I've never used a place board, but I have always used a doormat/carpet sample square as a target in the early stages of training. Those who use a place board, what are the advantages over a target mat?, I've read that the height...

    Gundog people

I have 2 pairs of Decathlon trousers, they fit like jeans, slight stretch, oldest pair are on their 5th season, weekly/twice weekly use. I've climbed through hedges and slid down banks in them. I have one pair for work/training and a tidy cleanish pair for accompanying Rob whilst he's shooting...

    Meet my puppy

I was at vet this morning with Beans so have registered the pup, I had to name him so I said Cracker, but it may be Rye. Indecisive, me, never!

    Meet my puppy

I'm trying to avoid B though as it's confusing enough having 2. I also thought Bara which is Welsh for bread
