Well done to you! I'm pretty sure I have a tub of milk thistle at the yard, my pony refused to eat it after the first tub. I'll double check it's still there later and if it is, you and Prince are very welcome to it :)
They should start to use the litter tray if you put their scent into it- use a handful of hay to mop up the wee next to the tray and put it in the tray. Each time you clean the tray put a little bit of dirty litter back in so it still smells of the bunnies :)
Our house bunny died a couple of...
Nappy cream from ASDA, it has tea tree oil in it and is cheaper than Sudocrem. My mare has just recovered from mastitis brought on by fly bites and is plastered in nappy cream every day. It does make its way into tails though, I've found washing up liquid gets it out again :)
I've got mine covered in Deosect and it seems to be stopping the feckers landing on the ponies but not stopping them buzzing around them. My own mix of baby lotion, tea tree oil, lavender oil and eucalyptus oil slathered on undercarriages also seems to keep them away for a few hours
After hunting everywhere for a white fly mask, I got a Tesco one, in white for £4. It's now in its 4 summer of service and has been used for my own mare and on friend's horses in an emergency and is still going strong! Also have a Roma one for my wee pony and it's pants :(
Thank you all! That forum is very useful, Centauress, I have bookmarked it :)
I'll be buying 1 snail, I don't want millions of them! I already have a 24 x 18 x 12" tank that my hermit crabs lived in, it will be in my daughter's bedroom and if it isn't warm enough there's a heat mat already...
Thank you :) I would like to know if they need a heat mat on the tank or is room temperature ok, can I use coco fibre for their substrate, is a 24" x 18" fish tank with lid ok to use for them, how often should she be cleaning out the whole thing and replacing the substrate and how humid do they...
M daughter loves snails and we've finally agreed that she can have some for her birthday in August. Can any kind soul give me an overview of what I need for them and also which species to buy as the Internet is full of conflicting advice!
My pony has been 'read' by one, she was spot on for 99% of what she said. It's quite spooky! Other horses were done too with owners saying she was spot on with some things, way out with other things :)
A good book on pasture management? I've recently moved to a new yard where my ponies have their own fields and I have only a basic knowledge of managing grazing because I've never had to! I have the use of 2 fields, each around 4 acres, for my Highland and Shetland, grazing is perfect for...
We have a 3 sows too- Bubble, Squeak and Womble! Our Bubble is smooth and Squeak is rough coated though. Bubble is a sort of tortoiseshell colour (is that correct for guinea pigs?) and has a wee ginger bit on her black face so she gets called 'Bubble with the bogey' :D
I've had my mare since she was weaned, she turned 19 this month :) She's a great character, very calm, happy to do what she's asked as long as its not too repetitive! She jumps when in the mood for it, if not the jumps 'accidentally' get knocked over, she is an angel with my very lightweight...
